Epoch 11 is our final v1 Allocation Window
First off, our allocation window is live. Until 4 March.
This is a special one because it's our last epoch on v1 of our app and will lead into our migration to v2 of our app.
The allocation window runs from 18 February to 4 March, 2026.
Here's what's different:
- Single donation recipient: you can allocate ETH to Protocol Guild this epoch (or allocate to yourself and/or Protocol Guild)
- No matching funds: Golem Foundation will not match donations in Epoch 11. Matching funds are going to be reserved for future v2 rounds.
- Migration prompt: after you allocate, you'll be asked to migrate your locked GLM from v1 to v2, to our swanky new Octant app.
So why did we work on v2?
Great question. Let's get into v1 and some context-setting first.
How Octant v1 has worked
While we've collectively allocated over 2,800 ETH in matching funds and 11 funding rounds on v1, we did work with restrictions.
An epoch rewards accrual lasted roughly 90 days. You'd lock GLM, wait for the allocation window, decide how to allocate your ETH, collect your ETH rewards, and repeat.
Everyone was on the same clock. Same start, same end. 90 days locking, 14 days allocation window, and withdrawal of ETH after that. Our epochs had been straightforward and predictable in terms of timelines, there were limitations. If you missed the allocation window because life happened, your ETH rewards would be wasted, and you'd have to wait for the next epoch's allocation window. That's a LOT of time in between.

v2 brings more flexibility and lots of under-the-hood upgrades
The new Octant app removes rigid schedules. You can now lock tokens whenever you want. Unlock whenever you want. Earn WETH rewards continuously as long as your tokens are in the contract. No more 90-day cycles.
This opens the door to more rounds and more experiments as the ecosystem evolves. Rewards accumulate over 30-day cycles. Your share is proportional to your lock relative to everyone else in the pool. Your dashboard updates in real time, so you always know exactly what you're earning.

What stays the same
You're still locking GLM to earn WETH rewards. Those rewards still represent your voting power in future @GolemFoundation funding rounds. You can claim and withdraw them whenever they accrue.
The first v2 funding rounds are still a few months out. Until they launch, you get to start accumulating rewards in the new model. And when rounds launch, this becomes your single access point to everything: quadratic funding, community rounds, streaming experiments like StreamVote, all from one application.
How to migrate to v2?
We've got a detailed video guide here.
Here's what you'll have to do:
1) You allocate the way you would every allocation window on http://octant.app . Only difference is there aren't matching funds, and you can only allocate to @ProtocolGuild or yourself (or both)
2) Next, you click migrate. You'll see a few prompts on unlocking, changing the token allowance, and locking into the new contract.
3) Check http://glm.octant.app to see your locked GLM on our new app.
Why should you migrate?
All funding and allocation activities are moving to Octant v2.
Once the migration period ends, v1 will be deprecated. If your GLM stays in v1, it stops generating rewards. Migrate now and you're set up to earn from day one when rewards start accruing on April 1.
