gm gm,
It's that time again! Our Epoch 6 Allocation Window started January 11 at 5 PM CET (9 AM PDT / 12 PM EDT), and you have until January 25, at 5 PM CET (9 AM PDT / 12 PM EDT) to decide how to use your rewards and which projects to support.
Since our last update, our team has continued to push forward in our quest to build the next generation of Capital Accumulation and Allocation tools for impactful funding.
💚 Por si se te pasó, ahora puedes leer e interactuar con nuestra aplicación en español
Epoch 6 brings 1 major update for Octant v1, our second language, Spanish!! All Octant-related material, including the application, documentation, and landing page have been translated into and deployed into Spanish with the help of our growing Spanish speaking community. Please note that there may be errors, and we would appreciate any feedback you all have! As we continue to grow we look forward to expanding localization and bringing it to you in whatever language you call native!
🥳 We're cooking up something big for V2
Simultaneously, our V2 team has brought our new protocol closer to life, with the first set of contracts entering audit at the end of January - meaning that we will (fingers crossed) be able to start onboarding capital for new accumulation by the end of q1 2025!
As the team prepares for our first audit, we have also begun preliminary work on our new Quadratic Funding variant, which we have named PQF (Proper QF) - more on this later!
On the UX/UI & Product front, our team conducted more than 15 user interviews in the last 3 months across our various user groups. These sessions provided crucial insights that informed quality of life improvements for Octant and helped refine the initial designs of v2’s user-facing features, with a specific focus on what we are calling the Dragon Module.
For the Dragon Module, we developed interactive wireframes that exemplify core workflows, such as harvesting and configuration. User feedback highlighted the importance of customization, which has now been incorporated into updated designs. Moreover, our testing uncovered opportunities to simplify module configuration, resulting in a more dynamic experience. This iterative approach ensures the module is intuitive, efficient, and ready for real-world use. At the moment, these wireframes are quite low-fidelity and will require a polish pass – however, are sufficient to unblock engineering.
Next steps for the Dragon Module include finalizing the MVP design, with a focus on refining the onboarding flow and capital deployment configuration. Development will proceed based on the detailed user stories, prioritizing the onboarding wizard and strategy configuration. Additional testing with polished, interactive prototypes will validate these updates before full implementation.
🐉 Andd of course, last but not the least Degens & Dragons
Branding has evolved over the past several weeks, beginning with storytelling of our overarching Degens & Dragons theme. The catalyst for this has been a lot of internal discussion and exploration, leading to some illustration (part of which we’ve publicly released to the community). From here, the goal is to double-down on the aesthetic and begin folding it into the product, engagement materials, merch, and website. Long road ahead, but if the last few weeks were any indication of trajectory, there are lots of good things on the horizon!
If you have suggestions for further enhancing the user experience or preserving the integrity of the fund allocation process, please reach out to us on Discord, the Discuss forum, or our social media channels (Farcaster, Twitter/X). After this allocation window closes, we will continue to closely listen to feedback through interviews, user surveys, and efforts to learn more from your experiences.
Thank you for your time, your engagement, and your participation in our community!
The Octant Product Team.
